Sweating is more in extreme heat. It ruptures the
sweat glands and ducts of the skin, causing sweat to accumulate under the skin.
This results in blisters, which are reddish, itchy. It's scary. Infections
often occur when the sweat glands close their mouths due to accumulation of
sweat and dust. This leads to trouble. Bacterial and fungal diseases also occur
during this time due to sweat and dust.
What
to do if itching
Ø The
more a child sweats and dries his body, the more likely he is to catch a cold.
So if the shirt gets wet with sweat, it should be taken off immediately. Wipe
the body with a thin cotton cloth.
Ø In
hot weather, the baby should be bathed every day. However, if you are tired
from school or outside, you cannot take a bath immediately. After wiping off a
little sweat, take a bath with water of normal temperature.
Ø Clean
the baby daily with soap while bathing.
Ø In
hot weather, children's hair sweats a lot. Hair roots should be removed as soon
as possible without waiting for air to dry.
Ø It
is better not to scratch or touch the scratched nails. Soaking a soft cloth in
cold water and wiping the affected area will reduce the itching a lot.
Ø Antiperspirant
powder or talcum powder can be used. However, the body should be wiped well
before giving the powder. Should not be coated with thick powder. This closes
the pores of the skin. This causes more itching.
Ø It
is best not to put diapers on a very young baby at this time. Wet diapers can
cause discomfort for the baby. It can also cause skin rashes.
It
is important to remember a few things
Ø The
baby can be shaved in hot weather. This reduces the risk of skin diseases
including itching and dandruff.
Ø The
baby needs to drink more water. Sweat removes enough sodium and as little
potassium and bicarbonate as possible. So you can eat fruits, fruit juices,
soft drinks, saline.
Ø Make
the child interested in eating seasonal fruits like watermelon, bell, papaya,
raw mango, watermelon etc. If you do not want to eat directly, you can eat it
with sherbet or juice.
Ø Keep
baby away from fried, overly oily and spicy foods and purchased foods.
Ø At
this time the child should be kept away from playing in the hot sun as much as
possible.
