What is MonkeyPix and how does it spread?
Although thousands of monkeypox cases have been reported in West and Central Africa in recent years, the disease has not yet been reported in Europe and North America.
The WHO said in a statement: "Monkeypox has been identified in 11 countries so far. The recent outbreak is unusual, as the disease is spreading to some countries that have not been seen before.
The UN health agency says it is working with affected countries and others to identify and assist those affected and to increase disease surveillance.
At the same time, the WHO has warned not to treat the victims negatively. The agency said the spread of the disease could be exacerbated by the lack of access to services for victims.
On May 7, the first monkeypox was detected in the United Kingdom. Victim recently visited Nigeria. He is thought to have contracted the virus in Nigeria before returning to the UK.
